Adaptive reuse strategy for
repurposing laneway garages,
with Megi Davitidze and Fadri Horber.
Laneway garages across the city often occupy underused space, opening the possibility for dwellings above them. This strategy explores how these units could bring life to back alleys while allowing current car use to continue, integrating new housing into the existing urban fabric. While the municipality now permits such conversions, the study focuses on simplifying design, execution, and ownership, addressing the legal and logistical challenges of shared property.
