Adaptive reuse of a cargo building built in 1974,
with Pablo Prado Serrano, Lía Duarte Rodríguez, and Inés Vachez Palomar,
supported by TU Berlin and DAAD.
Focusing on one of the former Tegel Airport cargo buildings, the proposal envisions flexible spaces that support independent work, community activity, and cultural engagement. Following the airport’s closure, the design explores how existing structures could be repurposed, emphasizing minimal structural demolition and a strategy in integrating with the ongoing master plan, while creating opportunities for local residents to generate value from underused infrastructure.
